Why does that matter? Healthy plants reflect a lot of near-infrared light. Stressed plants don't. So the satellite can literally see which parts of your field are thriving and which need attention.

NDVI: The Magic Number

NDVI stands for Normalized Difference Vegetation Index. Fancy name, simple concept.

It's a score from -1 to +1 that tells you how green and healthy your crops are:

• 0.8 to 1.0: Excellent, dense, healthy vegetation
• 0.5 to 0.8: Good, normal growth
• 0.2 to 0.5: Stressed or sparse vegetation
• Below 0.2: Bare soil or dead plants
